Back...With a Bug : (

I wrote in my last post that I had a wedding to go to in New York. I came back Sunday and meant to do a new post on Monday, but, unfortunately, I came down with a cold and had to delay it until now. I was not in the wedding, but I was invited to the rehearsal dinner. In this post I am going to show you the outfit I wore to the dinner, and in one of my next posts I will show you what I wore to the wedding. I hope you like it!

(Please excuse the poor quality of the picture, the lighting was very bad. You can click on it to see it up-close.)

Cardigan: Delia's Space Dye Sweater Duster (Mine is black with multicolor, not white)
Necklace: I got it from a local farmer's market.

Packing Haul

Today I had to run out to pick up a few things before I leave for my cousin's wedding in New York tomorrow. I though it might be fun to share what I got.

The first thing I needed were camisoles:
My favorite camisoles are from Aeropostale. They fit me very nicely, have a built-in bra, and they usually have a lot of colors.

                                                                 Next I got pantyhose:
I realize you are now probably thinking pantyhose? What is she 90? And, no, I am not 90, but on special occasions, yes, I do wear pantyhose (especially at this time of year when my legs have billions of scars from bug bites over the summer.) I just feel they make my legs look a little better.

The last two things I got were makeup products:

My mom has this lip gloss and I always steal it. So when I started to become low on lip gloss I knew just what one I wanted. I love Neutrogena lip gloss because it isn't very sticky. (The color is Fruity Pink and the number is 110.)
And, lastly, I got more Maybelline New York Shine Free pressed powder, because, as you can see, I am almost out.

Cool Curls

This morning I was doing some snooping on youtube and I found the coolest video. The title is just How to Get Vintage Style Curls Without Heat!, but it is really so much more. She does it with her hair dry, which I thought was so cool because in most hair tutorials they use damp hair.

I have never seen a  tutorial like this one.  I just had to share it. Enjoy!

"Do You Think They'll Still Be In"?

Let's hope not. Here are some things I hope don't come back in this year:
I know a lot of people will hate me for saying this, but I really hope that UGGs don't come back in this year (even though I think they will). Although they are soft, I find them very stiff, and I am a bit sick of everyone wearing the same shoes.
Honestly I don't know why Northface jackets were ever in. Could it just be because they say Northface across the front?
And last, but certainly not least, are lumberjack hats. And I'm not talking about the cute animal face knit ones either. These look good on very few and should be left for the real lumberjacks.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!

This year baseball jackets are huge. And for good reason! They're super cute and super comfy! However, from what I've seen they can be a bit tricky to pull off. You want chic and relaxed...not just relaxed.  Here are a few tips on how to wear them so you look stylish but also laid back.
  •  Wear with skinnier bottoms. Most baseball jackets aren't very fitted and you don't want to look baggy.
  • Wear with girly shoes (heels, ballet flats, etc.). It is originally a boys jacket so I would not recommend wearing it with sneakers.
  • Keep unbuttoned = keep it chic.
  • Try it with a flair dress. I think the girly dress with the boyish jacket would look really cool.
  • Don't settle for one you think looks okay, you really need to love it. Otherwise you will never wear it.

The above styles can be found at:  Forever 21, Macy's, and Delia's.

Love In The Most Suprising Places

I don't like Journeys. Not one bit. I feel like everyone buys their shoes at Journeys, which is fine...if you want the same pair of kicks as the girl two doors down. I always try to stay clear of the store for that reason. And the fact that every time I do go into Journeys (which is not very often) I can never find anything I like. That's why I was so shocked when I opened up the catalog and saw the cutest pair of  heels looking up at me.
It was love at first sight! I went straight to the store to get them (they're even better in person!!),  but unfortunately they did not have them in in my size. I did order them but I am a little nervous about how they are going to feel, the heel is a little higher than I am used to.

The very next day after I ordered them I was flipping through seventeen magazine, and, gasp!! There they were on page 66! Even if every other person on the block gets these I will still love them!
